About Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP)
The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), a specialized unit of the Punjab Police, was established on January 8, 2003 to ensure security and safety for travelers on highways. Initially, 450 patrolling posts were set up, followed by 72 additional posts to enhance road safety.
For emergency assistance, PHP has launched a helpline: 📞1124, where road users can seek immediate help. Presently, 9,145 Constables, 1,000 Wireless Operators, and 1,000 Driver Constables are actively serving in the force.
